Chaharshanbe Suri and Sizdah Bedar
Nowruz is framed by two outdoor festivals: Chahārshanbe-suri, the fire festival before the new year, and Sizdah be-dar, the picnic that ends it. Both are much older than Islam and fiercely loved.
